Up you go!
Taking the stairs is certainly easier than a lot of the crawling and climbing you had to do to get into these caves, but it still isn't what you'd call easy. You try to count the steps as you go, but that gets harder as the higher you go, the less intact they are. You can see why, the rock wall here has little cracks running through it. You are just getting worried about that when you see a welcome sight - another balcony, just ahead! You press on with renewed vigor, and soon your feet rest on lovely flat ground once more. This balcony doesn't have a tunnel leading away like the one you came in on, but it has a little alcove with benches carved into the walls. Even better, there's water! A wellspring trickles from a crack in the rock into a basin carved into the floor. As you look around, something sparkly catches your eye. It's a little copper key, with a handle shaped like a fish. Neat! The stairs ahead don't go far before the less stable rock has finally caused them to collapse completely. Looks like this rest spot is as high as you go.
